Career Pathways/Launchpads
Traditionally, career-focused courses are referred to as "pathways." Vienna has expanded this concept into Pathways/Launchpads, recognizing that while a student may start in a program to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), they are actually being equipped for the entire healthcare spectrum.
A student in the Orientation to Healthcare Occupation Pathway/Launchpad isn't just training for a CNA certification; they are using it as a springboard toward becoming a Registered Nurse, radiologist, medical billing specialist, physician, pharmacist, or medical sales representative. The CNA certification is the starting point for endless career opportunities.
The Orientation to Healthcare Occupation program is just one of a wide array of Career Pathways/Launchpads offered at Vienna. A full listing can be found below.
College and Career Pathway Endorsements (CCPE), under the Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Act, allow school districts to award CCPEs to high school graduates. Students earn these endorsements by completing:
An individualized success plan.
A two-year career-focused instructional sequence (including early college credit).
At least two team-based challenges.
60+ hours of professional work-based learning.
Demonstrated readiness in math and reading.
Pathways authorized by ISBE are noted with the CCPE indicator broken down by National Career Cluster Framework in the list below.
