Ferne Clyffe State Park, located in Johnson County in Southern Illinois, is a wonderful field trip destination for groups interested in native Illinois flora and fauna.

Ferne Clyffe offers eighteen trails for visitors to enjoy.  Visitors may enjoy hiking, repelling, horseback riding, climbing, fishing and other outdoor activities in designated areas.

A limited number of groups may also be able to schedule chats with the park superintendent to ask questions about the park.  In addition, students interested in a career with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources or a related field may gain important career information.
