 EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: I attended Century High School where I graduated in 1988.  I then went to Shawnee College and graduated in 1990.  In the fall of 1990, I attended William Penn, but transferred after Christmas to SEMO.  I graduated from SEMO in the fall of 1992.  I have been teaching at Vienna High School since 1993. My Bachelor of Science degree is in the field of Biology Education and I have a minor in Earth Science.  I graduated from Murray State in 2002 with a Masters in Guidance and Counseling.  ENDORSEMENTS: BIOLOGY, BOTANY, EARTH SCIENCE, GEOLOGY, GENERAL SCIENCE, PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY, AND ZOOLOGY. UPPER ELEMENTARY/JR. HIGH: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE, GENERAL SCIENCE, LANGUAGE ARTS, PHYSICAL SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL SCIENCE.

 COURSES TAUGHT: Biology I is usually a sophomore class which fulfills one year of the science requirement at VHS.  This class includes a combination of subject matter and practical lab experiences.  It is designed to explore the nature of living organisms and their basic functions both chemical and structural.  The themes of biology as well as cell theories and cell development are studied.

Biology II is an elective class which juniors and seniors usually take to get ready for college. This course deals with scientific principles of biology and the organization and operation of living organisms.  Its purpose is to show the general similarities and specific differences through the classification system between organisms and the use each makes of its environment.

Physical Science A is a freshman class that fulfills one year of science credit.  This course covers a variety of physical science concepts.  These include the scientific method, problem-solving strategies, motion, energy, work, machines, matter, light, and magnetism.  Hands-on strategies will be utilized.

Physical Science B is a class that fulfills one year of science credit.  This course is a continuation of the physical science concepts in Physical Science A.  Engaged learning strategies will be utilized.

  EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:  I  was the Varsity Boy's Basketball coach for 4 years (1996-1999). Before I became head coach, I was the JV coach for 2 years (1993-1995). I have been involved in baseball for 5 years (1993-1998), the Ecology Club for 13 years(1993-2005), and the WYSE team for 6 years(1995-2001). I have been a co-sponsor of the Student Council since 1997.
