Mystery, excitement, and comedy are the
ingredients for this year’s Spring play, Chateau La Roach!
The story consisted of a pleasant country hotel
that becomes infested with cockroaches. This nuisance suddenly
becomes a disaster, when the owner of the establishment discovers
that a health inspector will be visiting the hotel in a disguise as
a regular patron.
The owners and entire staff are in an uproar as
they try to discover which of their guests is the health inspector,
and exterminate the pests at the same time.
Julie Farmer and Dustin Lammers co-starred in this year’s
production.
The play was performed three times. The students
performed once for the VHS students on Friday, March 17 at 9:30 a.m.
and at 7:00 p.m. for the public. They also performed on Monday,
March 20 for the students at the local grade schools.
Julie Farmer is a senior at VHS. She played Mimi
Laroche in this year’s play. Julie commented, "I was excited about
the play this year, and even though we didn’t have as much time to
practice as we normally do, I knew we would do great. The play went
really well, and I knew we had to make it great because last year’s
was so great.
Mrs. Guest is the drama teacher and the drama
club sponsor at Vienna High School. She commented, "The kids worked
very hard to get this play ready. I think it went great. I really
enjoyed watching the kids work on their accents and seeing them
loosen up. I can’t wait until next year’s play!"
The cast of the Chateau Laroche was: Julie Farmer
